Shakthi tv is a good tamil channel. It is the No.1 tamil channel in Sri Lanka.

Most of the programs will be re-telecast of Sun Tv programs. Tamil news will be at 8 pm daily. Also, telecast good tamil movies before Indian tv channels.

I think Buddhist TV is gone permanently may be because dishtv showing this channel illegally from Dialog DTH.

News First is the English news channel from MTV Sports tv. It is not a channel. It is a News program and they called it is as News First.

Every day night at 9 pm you will get this news program.

Shakthi Tv also will telecast the same English news during this period.

After 9.30 pm, you will get normal programs on these 2 channels.

MTV Sports channel telecast some sports program. But, non sports programs are more.

The reason for the name "sports" in the channel is to get the tv rights for Sri Lankan Cricket matches play in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka cricket board earlier made a must request condition that rights for the matches will be given only for the Sports channel. This is to satisfied the CSN tv channel to get the rights.

Therefore, MTV News First channel changed the name to MTV Sports channel. But, still they could not get the rights. But name of "sports" continue.
