After GSLV launch, PSLV C24 with IRNSS-1B likely in March

Even as ISRO is gearing up for the launch of GSLV D5 from Sriharikota tomorrow, preparations are on for launch of the PSLV C24 carrying IRNSS-1B, which is likely in March.

"The integration process of the satellite IRNSS-1B with launch vehicle PSLV C24 was started on December 27. The launch is most likely in March," a senior ISRO official told PTI.

Since the integration is expected to take around 60 days, the vehicle would be ready by February end and the likely launch would be in March, he said.

"Right now, we decided to stop the integration of IRNSS-1B with PSLV C24 for three days due to the scheduled launch of GSLV D5 with GSAT-14 tomorrow," he said.

IRNSS-1B is the second satellite in the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) and is one of the seven satellites constituting the IRNSS space segment.

IRNSS-1A was successfully launch on board PSLV C22 on July 1 last year.

The applications of IRNSS include terrestrial, aerial and marine navigation, disaster management, vehicle tracking and fleet management, integration with mobile phones, precise timing, mapping and geodetic data capture, terrestrial navigation aid for hikers and travellers and visual and voice navigation for drivers.

ISRO should increase their capacity to launch satellites from 3 months to one month to cater TP demand.

For that we need gslv to be successful as only gslv can launch 2500 kg class satellites

Thats why ISRO should prioritize GSLV launches instead of going for Mars expedition.

Everything is needed bro. We need gslv and we also need expedition. Because only expedition can attract students to join isro other wise they will go to us to join NASA like sunita Williams , kalpana chawla etc.

Priorities should be set according to available resources, requirments of industry & national interests. If Nasa is sending Mars lander that doesn't mean India also should do the same because Nasa has already mastered the space tech & they have different national priorities. Their market is saturated & they have local private sat operators to cater demand.
There is no point taking tech help from countries like Russia/US to launch unwarranted space expedition & boast for it.
If Isro would have mastered GSLV tech much before then it could have sent GSATs into space to cater increasing TP demand & TS would not have to spend thousands of crores in mpeg4 migration. This would have helped TS to lower pack prices helping TS customers & reduce customer backlash.

It's not about watching TV. NASA launched moon mission in early 1970. But they failed to determine water on moon until India launch their mission. So spending money on science expidition is for mankind not for racing.
