if they both were close friends, he would have supported Kamal's decision of dth release. but he was the first one to protest against this and the theatre union under his leadership (TTOA) only banned the film from release. even in the newspaper ads about the theatre release, all major cinemas in chennai were mentioned except the one owned by ramanathan
