MUMBAI: There is nothing quite like a mother's love, even in the great animal kingdom. Just as human beings, mothers in the wild shower all their love and care on the offspring's. They also protect them from danger and teach important aspects of life and skills required to survive in the most unfriendly and dangerous environments and scenarios.

Animal Planet is hosting special programmes to celebrate Mother's Day on 12 May from 4.00 pm - 8.00 pm.

Audience will get to witness some of the most 'extraordinary' mother-child moments of the planet's 'amazing' creatures in the episodes like- Super Mums, Echo and The Elephants of Amboseli, Wild Mothers and Babies, African River Goddess and Sita's Story.

'Super Mums' is a story in the wild, good mothers need to be clever operators if they want their kids to survive and in turn, breed themselves.

The 'Echo and The Elephants of Amboseli' is a story of a mother's journey to keep her family alive. Echo is a wise elephant matriarch who lives in South Kenya alongside fifteen hundred other wild African elephants who protects them from attacks by lions and growing conflict with angry Masai farmers.

The 'Wild Mothers and Babies' looks at the funniest, dangerous and heartbreaking moments. It is at this point when bonds are forged between parent and child.

The 'African River Goddess' follows the life of a young crocodile mother as she mates, bears eggs, guards her nest and sees most of her offspring perish in the treacherous waters of the Nile.

The 'Sita's Story' is the tiger and queen of the forest, hunter, mate and mother. Like all tigers, Sita hunts alone, stealthily. Large deers called Sambars, are her favourite prey. Follow Sita as she teaches her offspring to hunt and learn the ways of life in the jungle.
