Anmol TV, Zee’s free-to-air Hindi general entertainment channel, is currently facing a noticeable aspect ratio problem.
The channel’s broadcast feed is in 16:9, but it is being encoded and flagged as 4:3.
Because of this incorrect encoding, black letterbox bars appear on the top and bottom edges of the screen, while the sides are cropped correctly.
This issue clearly indicates a wrong aspect ratio flag in the SD feed’s uplink or playout chain, resulting in a compromised widescreen experience.

What’s more shocking is that this issue had been continuing for the past 3–4 days without any correction, and at first, it seemed like a fault from Zee’s technical end.
However, after checking the feed on ZEE5 and Tata Play, it’s now confirmed that the problem originates from Airtel DTH.
It’s surprising to see such a major DTH platform transmit the channel with a wrong aspect ratio flag, even though the original Zee feed is perfectly fine in 16:9 anamorphic format.

Do the people who have Airtel DTH also have this Anmol TV issue, like Me?

✅ ZEE5 – OK
✅ Tata Play – OK
❌ Airtel DTH – Aspect ratio error (16:9 broadcast encoded in 4:3)
