Automatic software updates of TataSky DTH started in Andaman & Nicobar Islands 🤩😍

Diglipur, Sep 12: Very good news pouring in related to the Tata Sky Direct to Home (DTH) connection in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The Automatic updates of TataSky DTH Software started yesterday in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Till now for every update which usually happens within 2-4 months, the Tata Sky Set Top Boxes were sent to mainland India for software upgrade which was time-consuming and costs about Rs 400/- per box and would return to the customers after a fortnight through courier services.
Apart from this, the islanders were fed up with local cable operators who are charging as per their wish and Administration unable to control them in spite of various attempts to do so. After the initial selection of channels, the local cable operators allow a second chance for change in channel package only after 3 months and that too with a premium amount.

Tata Sky is the only KU band DTH in Islands which is available in two feet parabolic dish, till now only Vertical TPs are available with limited channels for viewing. Recently, the Migration of Tata Sky from Insat 4A to Gsat 10 enabled the users to auto-update. Presently, the majority of channels including entertainment and news channels are available. It is hoped that soon the regional channels will be added to GSAT -10. Southern India channels Sun Tv HD, Gemini HD, Asianet Also tested today in Diglipur region.

There is a shortage of transponders in the G SAT 10 so migration of all the channels may not be possible until the launch of G SAT-30 in December 2019 from French Guiana kourou, it is learnt.

The general public in Andaman & Nicobar very happy and excited to see the automatic off the software which takes 3-5 minutes. The public can opt to choose the channels in SD and HD mode. The news of software updates will curb the monopoly of local cable operators and will mark the beginning of an end of looting in the name of public entertainment. From now the public can opt for as low as Rs.159/pm and online recharge whenever they deem fit.
