Yes generally out of top 5 sports channels, 3 are of star and 2 of sony. This was the case even when no live sports were there till few months back neither for star nor for sony even now its the same
Now star having LIVE CPL, which is doing good for them(as do most of their cricket games) and sony having live bilateral series of England, Australia, Pakistan etc and live football events
Note: This week UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL(Sony ten2) (finally some non cricket sports in top 5)entered in top 5 trp charts in sports
And even the rain affected incomplete Pakistan vs England 1st T20I (Sony six) also enterd top 5.
But it will be interesting to see that what happens in the upcoming months, now big cricket events coming for star (ipl)and sony (India tour of Australia).

But it was surprising to see Star at no 1 when CPL was not there and Sony was having Eng vs Pak Test series... I didn't knew Star have this much reach compared to sony.

Yes bro u also right, but also less viwers for test cricket nowadays(specially non India ones) and star was showing ipl highlights along with ball by ball repeat ipl and Indian cricket team matches which attracted many viwers But now is the time when we should start comparing Sony with star now when star will be having live CPL and sony with Pakistan and Australia tours of England of White ball cricket
Already the 1st rain affected incomplete T 20 match between England and Pakistan managed to attract so many viwers let's see what happens in the coming days when even more competitive white ball matches will be there(note the 2nd and 3rd t20 between pak and England were very close matches so likely to get high viwership from there)

I think Sony have the chance to beat Star with England vs Australia series but let's see what happens as people nowadays prefer 2 years old IPL highlights in comparison to live 50 over or test cricket.
