the biggest mistake that bbc made was that when launching in india they did not follow the right route, advertising both channels should have been done properly and carriage deals worked out with major cable operators after this people would have themselves demanded bbc ent and cbeebies from their cable or dth operator and bbc would not have incurred losses by paying money to operators inform carraige fee to relay the channels. had expnasion of channels happned properly, ad revenues would also have increased. also another thing that could have worked out was launching a premium hd channel. subscription revenue is very low in india bcoz cable operators underdeclare subscribers and only way to survive is to gain more ad revenue
