MUMBAI: For seasons on, ‘Bigg Boss’ has been a
mouthful of controversy, and just as full of
success as no other reality show on Indian
television. So, my decision to finally set off to
the ‘Bigg Boss’ set in Lonavala was quite
justified: I wanted to know how the show was
made across seasons and regions.
The Bigg Boss House is located in a sprawling,
well-guarded property. Right next to the house is
a special chalet built for Salman Khan’s stay
during the weekend as he shoots the ‘Weekend
Ka Vaar’ episodes.
There is a lot of hustle bustle going on as it’s
the Diwali special episode. There are many
performances in store and Khan is set to enter
the house to meet the contestants.
Endemol India MD Deepak Dhar says that he was
at first left wondering after watching ‘Big
Brother’—how to pitch this in the Indian market.
But he also knew that “any format that we bring
into the country should be adapted culturally and
we managed that perfectly.”
The show was initially on Sony Entertainment
Television, from where it shifted to Colors upon
its launch. Viewers were also treated to a variety
of hosts starting from Arshad Warsi to Big
Brother UK winner Shilpa Shetty to Amitabh
Bachchan to the Salman – Sanjay Dutt duo, and
currently Salman Khan, since Season 4.

TV actress Soni Singh's stint in reality show
Bigg Boss 8 ended on Sunday. The 27-year-old
was evicted from the house after being
nominated by her inmates.
She is known for her appearance on
'Saraswatichandra', 'Comedy Nights With Kapil'
and 'Laagi Tujhse Lagan'.
Soni, whose closeness with co-contestant
Upen Patel became the talking point of the
week, was increasingly getting isolated in the
house despite being active in tasks. The
brother-sister relationship between Soni and
Upen caught the eyes of not only the
housemates but audiences aswell.
Now that Soni is out, we can hope to see more
of Upen Patel - mingling with other
housemates and voicing his opinions.

Bigg Boss 8: Sushant Divgikar
shaves off his golden hair
Looks like the equation between Bigg
Boss 8 contestants Gautam Gulati
and Diandra Soares is getting worse
with each passing day as the latter is
in no mood to patch-up.
In tonight's episode, Pritam
desperately wanted a haircut and
Gautam decided to trim his hair.
However, the hair cut goes wrong
and Diandra and Upen will be seen
telling Pritam that the haircut has
turned out very weird.

Diandra, who is not very fond of
Gautam gets another chance to pick
on him and starts taunting him that
he has messed with Pritam's hair.
She will also be seen taunting Pritam
