Then colors Cineplex Shut Down BetterBut When Colors And Star Merger Complete So Jio Cinema All Movies Content Will Be Shift to Disney+Hotstar
Now it's a big challenge for reliance to maintain the star legacy..and to maintain as no 1 network
I think when the honeymoon period is over, Star may gradually undergo degradation. I feel Reliance can't keep Star's legacy. It will slowly transform like how Viacom 18 is going now. Seemingly its a JV by Disney & Viacom 18 but Disney will not involve much in the administration as they actually wished to sell Star. Their share presence is only to provide contents in India. The 4 major exits from Disney Star alone is an evidence of Reliance hijacking. Otherwise the exits may happen from both side especially from Viacom 18 as Star is superior than Viacom 18( When Disney India merged with Star, Disney prioritised Star team). But here things are happening opposite.Viacom18 already having someone else to the job so why keeping two heads at one position? Also, his (Viacom18) credibility shows up at this position that he got approval from CCI for merger.
As per article, from his departure nothing much going to happen he was overseeing the Studios business, which includes all global releases. Also, he's likely to continue key role in Disney India.
I think reliance will maintain star legacy currently reliance is no 1 in many sectors except television network..my guess that's why they are willing to buy star network.. because star network currently holding no 1 postion so they will retain itI think when the honeymoon period is over, Star may gradually undergo degradation. Fox build Star well and Disney maintained better. Everybody doubted when Disney take over Star, will the funds throttle? But Disney & Madhavan treated Star with more money in terms of production, acquisition, regional expansion etc. When it comes to Reliance, they mainly flow money to distract rivals. If there is nobody infront of them or they reach at top position, Reliance will cut funds & reduce quality. Star's culture is not like that. Even the Star team is completely undergoing liquidation, the hope is most Viacom 18 executives are former Star staffs including Uday Shanker.
