Mumbai-based CloudWalker Streaming Technologies is eyeing tie-ups with multi-system operators (MSOs) and local cable operators (LCOs) to provide video-on-demand (VoD) services to end customers.

The company recently partnered with internet service provider (ISP) YOU Broadband to build a new a new VoD platform that will provide digital content to the ISP’s customers which will be accessible across web, mobile and tablets.

The company also launched its on-demand portal, halfticket.tv, which is a curated VoD platform. The service is also available as a free app on Google Play Store.

The company’s ultimate aim is to provide a one-stop shop for digital content distribution across multiple platforms (web, smartphone, tablets and television) and be able to service viewers who are looking to consume content ‘anytime, anywhere and on any device’.

CloudWalker Streaming Technologies founder Jagdish Rajpurohit reveals that the idea of launching a curated service came from the insight that a lot of content, especially film content, disappears after release.

According to Rajpurohit, MSOs and LCOs must start providing value-added services, otherwise customers will move from cable TV if anybody offers them a better service at better price point
