The spate of senior level exits in the past few months at Network18 and CNN-IBN have generated much media buzz. This time, the media buzz is that senior journalist and Deputy Editor of CNN-IBN, Sagarika Ghose, is likely to join Headlines Today.
When contacted by exchange4media about her joining Headlines Today, Ghose refrained from saying anything on the issue and replied, “I am on holiday now.”
However, highly placed sources in the industry informed exchange4media that Ghose’s next stint will be with Headlines Today, though her role has not been confirmed yet.
She has been a journalist since 1991 and has earlier worked with The Times of India, Outlook magazine and The Indian Express. Ghose has won several awards in journalism and is the author of two novels.
India Today Group recently got two senior journalists on board – Shekhar Gupta and Karan Thapar.
As is known, Reliance Industries has announced that it is taking complete control of Network18 Media & Investments, including TV18 Broadcast. In a release issued on May 29, 2014, Reliance Industries had stated that its Board has approved funding of up to Rs 4,000 crore to Independent Media Trust (IMT), of which Reliance is the sole beneficiary, for acquisition of control in Network18 Media and Investments, including its subsidiary, TV18 Broadcast
Following this development, there have been several high profile exits, including Raghav Bahl.
