Good news for D2h North Customers.
But instead of this strategy,Dish tv should have gone to Single Satellite and realign the customers to that single dish (SES8 or ST2).
Tata sky did a mega transition before by changing all the MPEG2 boxes to MPEG4 boxes free of cost to customers. Like that Dishtv should have gone with only realignment of antenna for customers to single satellite based on number of connections aligned to SES8 & ST2.
By which they can cut down expenses spent on Acquiring TPs in satellite and related expenses. As a customer, we wont have issue like some channels available in SES8(North) and some are available only in ST2 (South) like now.

They would be paying as per the carriage fee for both Dishtv and D2h separately for FTA channels. For pay channels also it would be separate. This is from the fact some of the channels like 9X Jalwa is present on D2h and not on Dishtv.The control is with Dishtv.

This might be the reason they're not interested in shifting to a single satellite after all they're getting double money
