And also MIB and TRAI both have said that there wont be any changes to the digitization as this is the final one and it wont be changed at any cost

One more year? After 2 more years there would be a state election and again there could be many more changes. Huh... i sometimes wonder if I'm really living in India or in some nation that just got freedom from a life long strife like a civil war.

SCV seems to be happy with Analogue and not a single interest in pushing for DAS.
Arasu ??
Jak: Only god knows why they really started this MSO.
TCCL: Somewhere or at some place.

So basically digitization will be extended in Chennai (TN) only, while other states will have the same digitization dates and digitization will go on and end in DEC 2014. and then analoge will shut down forever.

I think the telecom minister referred to the entire nation that comes under Phase 3 and 4.

And about Chennai, no-one knows to which phase it actually belongs to. As some press reports Chennai could be the only island in the Indian Digital Ocean.

The Chennai distribution market is dominated by two MSOs: SCV (Owned by SUN TV) and ARASU cable (Government-owned). Other MSOs such as JAK, TCCL etc. exist but the market is dominantly held by the former two.

SCV which seems to be on the losing grounds and Arasu seems to be gaining.

But can atleast one of these MSO come out and give an assurance to people on their status of service in the Chennai city so people can decide on that they wish to do.

1: Can SCV assure the people that their service will continue atleast for the next 12 months if people get their STB? Can they??

2: Can Arasu assure people that they will take control after the LS 2014, by Deepavali or atleast by next new year or Pongal? Will they??

Unless any one of the above two queries are answered, people have no choice but to either slowly move to some DTH by paying way more than local cable or to stay with the pathetic and miserable CAS by paying rs 1300 for the SCV STB without a guarantee on the service status.

Am assuring u, SCV will be there in chennai for next 5 yrs.
Eventhough SCV lose grounds, i know ur LCO won't disconnect SCV..
so HOUSE-MD go ahead and buy SCV STB today itself .

Friend, i want an assurance from the person who collects my money every month.

My friend who is close to the LCO just called asked for an STB this is exactly what he said.

"Wait for a few more weeks as there could be a change, so if you get an STB at this point then its on your own risk and we cant assure you that you would get any refund for your money. Also we cant guarantee a change as still things are not clear on which way it would go and everyone here are still confused."
