Discovery Kids officially launched - Priced at Rs.13.75

Discovery Networks Asia Pacific has launched its channel for children, Discovery Kids, in India. The channel targets the 4-11 age audience.

This will be Discovery's eighth channel. It will be available in three languages – English, Hindi, and Tamil. The channel is available for Rs 13.75 in analogue and over Rs 6 in digital.

Rahul Johri, Discovery General Manager (South Asia), said that there is a huge untapped gap in the market with only 5-6 channels present for around 370 million kids in India.

He also added that the company will launch a website for the new channel next week.

The channel's content will include programmes based on history, nature, science and mythology.
