Yes,There are few Punjabi channels in India,
The funny thing is Canada alone has more Punjabi channels than India and Pakistan(Where it is the mother tongue of majority of population) combined.

PTC Punjabi is an average channel,
It is a GEC for namesake,
It airs music most of the time,and has 1-2 poor quality reality shows.
Ptc is surving just because they have Darbar Sahib(Golden Temple) Gurbani telecast rights,otherwise,this channel has nothing to offer to viewers.

PTC news is an Akali mouthpiece.
(It is #1 just because it too airs Gurbani and Religious music in the morning)

Their music channel-PTC Chakde
Also airs Gurbani in the morning and evening from Hazoor Sahib (Maharashtra)


People have no choice but to watch Hindi GECs,which gradually has resulted in lot's of Hindi words becoming part of everyday vocab. replacing the Punjabi ones.

A similar situation exists in Gujarat. PTC Punjabi and Colors Gujarati have a monopoly in their respective languages. Hindi serials are being preferred to Gujarati shows.

Leave over serials bro .. punjabi Film Industry is 4 biggest Film industry in India . The First Priority in Entertainment is Music And Movies and as you know Punjabi Music is even More Productive than Bollywood and holds No.1 position in India . Punjabi Music Represents India Gloabally, 65 - 70 % of Music Market in India and Overseas is grabbed by Punjabi Music . That is the only reason why Punjab only Focuses on Music and Movies rather than Serials and Other Shows etc. We have a saying in Punjab - Punjab ch tan itt pattan te singer milda aa . ( Hindi - Punjab mein toh eet ukhaadne pr Singer milta hai ) ( English - If you Pick up a brick in Punjab, you will find a Singer )

Undoubtedly,Punjabi films are running houseful and are highly popular even among non-Punjabi audience.Also,Punjabi music stands just next to Hindi, in terms of youtube views,as well as,streamings on music apps.
But,quality wise,A lot has to be done.
Majority of Punjabi films are based on comedy,other genres ain't given much importance.Morever,there are lack of good actors.Any random singer with zero knowledge of acting becomes a hero,if his 1-2 songs turns hit.Ranjit Bawa,Tarsem Jassar,Parmish ,Amrit Mann,who does not know A of acting are being given awards.
Every day a new actor/singer appears,what needed is money power.

Compared to Bollywood i rate Pollywood as 2/10 That too because of actors like Diljit Dosanjh,Aminder Gill,Ghuggi ,Sargun,Neeru ,Bhalla etc.

And there is only one quality Punjabi movies channel- Pitaara tv.Though 60% of its slots are filled with music.


Ptc Punjabi is a waste channel
except from Gurbani telecast.


Therefore,Viewers have no choice but to switch to Hindi channels which is resulting in infiltration of non-Punjabi words into our daily language usage.
For e.g Most of people have started saying 'Rakhvankaran' (Reservation) as Arakshan ,Pulaad (space)-Antriksh, Jekar(If)-Agar,
Badlav(Change)-Parivartan , Ilzaam/tuhmat- Aarop, Surakheya(Safety)-Surakhsha, Attwad(terrorism)- Atankwad .........

Also,I love Punjabi and i want entertainment in my mother tongue.
