Because they dont like to change the present system in which they loot the customer. For example Star Sports 1 alacarte in TS/Dish/etc is around 50. In the new system, it will be 19.

It's not true. It's true only in case u have very limited choice to watch TV channel. However, as your wish to watch channels increase then the amount will be huge. For example, if someone wants to watch All Hindi drama, Movies, Music and Sports channels then it will cost a lot of money. More than the current price of packages.
