No new english movies channels. No new cartoon channels no new English gec. Many channels are suffering. So i think. The era of satellite channels is over

Our population is too big and poor for satellite tv to fail. People will still watch cricket. Udhay Shankar will still be considered genius for airing same cricket on ten different channel until RoKo retires. Broadband will still remain out of reach for poor and lower middle class. Daily data limits and poor mobile infrastructure won't let rural audience replace phone for tv.

If you are asking, is satellite TV dead already - then no. You cannot answer this through your conviction & mere speculation.
According to official hard figures, India still has 111M Pay satellite/cable TV connections.

Although, yes, in popular sense, it is rapidly losing relevance in our country. Also, I feel the steepest decline is in HSM key markets like UP, Bihar, CG&MP. In these regions, Pay TV is as unpopular as it could get. People directly get free dish or OTT.

Satellite TV is declining, but it's not dead yet.

Every family should consider having Cable/DTH instead of connecting TV sets with Internet just to save few 200-250 monthly.

This internet culture has provided children overexposed to adulterated, vulnerable, violence, self harm and even in some cases n*d*ty content.

And, believe as soon as people will realise that Cable/DTH sales will be raised. This is the main reason for not having broadband at my home.

When need internet one of us turn on hotspot, by this we keep eye on what content our junior is consuming.

Free tv is same. They need pay tv with locked boxes. Shows like Crime Patrol, Crime Files, TV Debates etc. should come with password on set top boxes. Show ratings are a joke.

Cable/ Dth is not dead but it is being made dead by all parties associated with it.TRAI and broadcasters are responsible for it.Dont know why TRAI is forcing them for NTO as it's failed since it was applied.Before NTO we use to see mostly free and paid channels channels around Rs 200-250 but today we get only FTA channels in around 170 Rs..NTO was brought by TRAI for good but it raised the bills as broadcasters moved the premium and fresh content on paid channels..Also individual pricing of channels are high if we opt all channels of a particular region like I am from North/Hindi user.
If we opt for FTA and paid channels of our region only excluding other regional channels then only bill goes around 500-600 Rs a month..
Then came Jio/Airtel fiber and Airfiber which provides us mostly channels including internet and OTT around 700 which seems most cheaper then DTH alone.So by this ratio DTH bill should be around 250-300 for a particular region channels like Hindi ,Tamil,Telgu etc.

DTH / cable operator,broadcasters and TRAI must sit together to correct this.
Best would be TRAI withdraws NTO and DTH/cable operators and broadcasters must be given freedom to choose pricing of packs for the betterment and bring pricing upto the survival of dth/cable.

The biggest misconception here is that broadcasters care about dth/cable - I don't think they do. They only care about their short term profits.
