Please don't call me stupid, but I have one question. I have a micromax LED and have connected 2.1 speakers to it via RJ connector. When i change from Audio to 5.1, no sound comes. Do i need 5.1 speakers in order to make this work ?

It may be 5.1 sound but I think it may not be Dolby Digital per se. Neither Dish TV STB's carry the Dolby logo nor does Dish provide DD logo in the EPG. Even the STB packaging and the DishTV website mention just 5.1 sound. So I don't think they have license from Dolby to carry their logo.

So let's just call it 5.1 surround sound instead of Dolby Digital 5.1! :lol

If you have connected the STB thru HDMI and your TV does not support 5.1 sound, you will get no sound with the 5.1 setting.

Yes, the sound is very low. It is not even clear. Also no sound coming in surround channels. For name sake it is showing Dolby Digital in amplifier. It was better without DD.

From couple of days i m facing one new strange problem , on Star Gold HD while Dolby audio selection surround sound channels both rear left and rear right Chanel is muted yesterday I Watched JOLYY LLB & I am using Airtel HD+ . on Commercial Advertise its working fine as need. but while watching Movie rear Surround Both Chanel compactly Mute not single Beat/Voice coming entire movie. working like 3.1 on 5.1 Chanel.
Please confirm TATA Sky HD as soon as possible whether it is Airtel Dep. Glitch or from Star HD Group Problem.....
Other Star HD channels working fine
