Next time before making the shift, please change and reduce the DNS TTL to as low as possible. I guess it can be made to 1 minute. Then after making this change, wait for a couple of hours and then shift the site. I am guessing the new DNS would get propagated much faster and people would not be devoid of the forum for as long as they are/were today.

Helpful tip. Thanks for your suggestion. I will keep it in mind while doing DNS related changes in future.

Great news. Today had a very bad day. For the first time realised how difficult is to spend a day without DDF. Simply impossible ! I know server maintenance is important but can any one tell me how can one remain separated from his family even for a day ?
