DDF Exclusive Exclusive: Dish TV Recording Feature will be Paid from Today Onwards.

Today when I pressed R (recording) button on my remote, to my dismay I found a banner titled "105. PVR Unauthorized". Thereafter I called the customer care regarding this; they informed that from 1st Jan 2018 an additional amount of Rs 30 per month or Rs 199 per year (gst included) shall be levied to avail the recording service.

I just want to confirm the above piece of information with you guys. Under this circumstance, as a customer what are our options?
Can we appeal in the consumer court because dishtv (or other operators) should not be allowed to charge monthly or yearly for a service (program or software) that runs locally on our set top boxes?
What other dth operators are still there in the market that offer free recording?

i mailed to dishtv cc.i got mail from dishtv that recording charges are applicable from jan 1st at Rs30 per month.

So recording is paid it is confirmed but it is Rs 1 per day on monthly basis, 55 paise per day on yearly payment and 65 paise per day on 180 days payment

If they want to charge for recording first they need to provide us their own space in stb's and also make sure we can watch one channel and record others. No one is going to pay for it unless they do those steps. Ps first they said free recording for lifetime and now this??? Lol what a joke. Im throwing my dish tv box away and moving to tata sky, enough is enough.

Looks like Dish TV is indirectly driving customers away from them

First they should do some good things to customers then they can bring in these kind of changes like making things chargeable or removing channels.

Instead if they first do all these kind of awkward stuff, many will leave them before they actually start doing good after merging with D2H.
