Good News Forum software upgraded!

A bug-fix software update for our forum was rolled out today. It fixes several previously reported issues.

Most visibly the update fixes the following issues: Forum home page Featured threads carousel widget pager text overlap, Notification counter loading issues.

While I don't want to disappoint, it's not going to be fixed with our current editor.

As per the forum software developers, our current text editor has so many issues that they are ditching it altogether and choosing a new rich-text editor in the upcoming feature release. They have given a release ETA between Q4 2024 and Q1 2025 but knowing them it might get delayed further.

We can consider it as good news in the long run.

Sticky create buttons was the last feature which was pending to be ported after our forum software update. Finally, it was ported and re-added to our forums today.

These buttons are present on various pages for quicker and easier content submission.

@Bapun bro, long press of reaction button gives a pop-up by the browser for more actions as we get for a right-click. This issue was found a few years back too and was later resolved. Now, after the revamp, the issue has resurfaced.

Today I've applied a workaround for this bug. You can check and revert here. I hope the issue doesn't reoccur.
