MUMBAI: ‘Extreme Love’, a fresh new dating format being brought to next month’s television trade event MipTV by television format creator and distributor FremantleMedia, challenges a group of modern-day Prince Charmings to prove their survival skills in order to win the hand of their princess.

Created by Israel’s Studio Glam, ‘Extreme Love’ invites 10 would-be wooers from all walks of life to a remote but breathtaking location where they have two tasks: to compete for the affections of a modern-day maiden and to survive harsh living conditions and compete against the forces of nature, and one another, in order to survive.

FremantleMedia senior VP global acquisitions and development Vasha Wallace said: “FremantleMedia is very excited to be working with someone of Ami Glam’s creative calibre. Extreme Love is like no other dating show I’ve ever seen.

Watching our would-be suitors competing, not only for survival, but also for the affections of their lady, offers broadcasters event television, with an arc that creates a story for viewers to watch every week…not to mention people falling in love! We’ve already had a lot of interest in the show internationally and are busy developing a series of exciting digital and interactive components for it. We can’t wait to bring it to Cannes.”

Studio Glam CEO, executive producer Ami Glam said, “The search for the big new dating show has preoccupied industry creatives for quite some time.

Extreme Love takes the TV dating world to the next level by being both real and reliable.

By challenging the participants with extreme conditions, they have to explore their inner depths and not just perform for the camera.

We strongly believe in the FremantleMedia – Studio Glam partnership and are very happy to work with them to jointly develop this format.

We believe our collaboration will produce an international format that can be adjusted to suit many territories’ needs for a high quality, reality content.”
