Gemini TV to live telecast 'HudHud' fund raiser event "Memu Saitam Telethon", Contributes 3.5 Cr
Hyderabad: The cyclone ‘Hudhud’, struck the beautiful Coastal City of Vizag and Uttara Andhra on the 12th Oct’ 2014, causing great destruction. A huge human effort is required to rebuild the affected areas and restore its lost glory.
In the wake of HudHud, several Film personalities have already come forward and made substantial monetary and material donations.
The Telugu Film Industry is making collective effort to put together a Massive and Marathon entertainment event on the 30th of November, to prompt the millions of Indians and large Indian Diaspora across the world to participate and contribute to their best capabilities, and provide succour to the Cyclone affected people and the area.
They named the entire event as "MEMU SAITAM" mass movement, a ‘Call for collective participation’ from the Telugu Film Fraternity to invite people to donate generously towards this cause.
‘MEMU SAITAM’ consists of several exciting events such as Cricket with Stars - where 4 teams of film stars with 6 players each will be playing an Indoor Cricket.
visitors can buy the ticket for Rs 3000/- , Mega Lucky Draw - 104 Lucky Donors out of the overall donors of Rs 500/- will be selected and announced on Gemini TV by 27th November and lucky winners will be getting many exciting prizes like Cars, Bikes, Laptops, Cell phones etc., Celebrity Dinner with Stars - 100 Couples who Donate Rs 1 Lac per couple, will get to meet the favourite stars and dine with them and Finally the Mega Telethon - a 12 hours Live Telethon with Musical Performances with all the top Musicians, Singers and Stars, Dance Performances by top Stars, Entertainment Shows directed by popular directors and performed by the Stars.
Sources from Gemini TV confirmed that the channel has contributed around Rs 3.5 Cr towards the HudHud relief fund and the channel is entitled to cover all the event related to "Memu Saitam" movement which will be held on 29th & 30th November at various places in Hyderabad, which includes the Live telecast of Grand Mega Nonstop Telethon for 12 hours on 30th November 9 PM onwards.
Almost all the Telugu Film artists have pledged their support to make this event a grand success with 100% attendance.
Moreover, they are also likely to invite top celebrity stars from Tamil and Hindi film Industry also.
The funds raised through "Memu Saitam" event will be handed over to the AP CM Relief fund, which will be utilized towards the "HudHud" relief works.
