Tata Sky offers Tamil Nadu pack Chennai, April 23: Tata Sky has launched customised packs for subscribers in Tamil Nadu. The new pack, Yenathu Pack, will enable subscribers to avail themselves of regional channels of their choice along with a base pack of 120 channels at ₹99 a month. With over 15 channels, the Tamil Pack would cost ₹40 a month. Announcing the new offering at a press conference, Malay Dikshit, Chief Communication Officer, Tata Sky, said price- and value-sensitive subscribers can now do away with other language channels that they do not want to watch.
In order to enter homes in south India, Direct-to-Home (DTH) player Tata Sky has come up with a new package offering around 100 channels for Rs.100.
"The move will help Tata Sky to tackle analog users (plain cable TV connection) in the region situated within urban and rural areas," Malay Dikshit, chief communication officer, told reporters here on Thursday.
The company launched the yenathu99 pack whereby a viewer can view over 100 channels paying Rs.99 a month and choosing additional regional package (Rs.40 per month) or channels.
According to Tata Sky, customised and mini-packs will give the DTH sector the much need push.
Queried about the problems faced by subscribers due to bad or absence of signals, Dikshit said it was due to technology upgradation.
"Around 30,000-40,000 subscribers across the country faced the problem, which has now been sorted out," he added.
