GIST OF THE REPORT:: GAGAN Final System Acceptance Test (FSAT) was successfully completed in July 2012 by integrating GSAT-8 satellite signals to evaluate the system performance. The FSAT results have successfully demonstrated that GAGAN Signals meet the civil aviation requirements.
On the successful launch of GSAT-10, In-orbit Test (IOT) was completed for GAGAN Navigation payload from INLUS-EAST site at GAGAN complex, Kundalahalli, Bangalore and qualified the site for integration. The integration of this earth station with GSAT-10 is in progress and on successful completion, GAGAN signal-in-space will be available for user community from GSAT-10. Contract to develop INLUS Monitor & Control (M&C) software as per the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standard has been awarded to a private vendor to fulfil the certification requirement.
The establishment of third INLUS at New Delhi and additional data communication network is in
progress. The next major milestone events in the GAGAN are the integration of New Delhi INLUS with GSAT-8, development of Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E) software tools for GAGAN system performance analysis, development of INLUS M&C software as per ICAO standard to fulfill the certification requirement and final system certification by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in the year 2013.
