Hathway launches digital cable TV services near DU

New Delhi: Cable TV services major Hathway Cable and Datacom launches their digital cable TV services in Gujranwala Town (Model Town), near Delhi University.
The new service was launched by Kapil Sibal, Union Minister of Communications and Information Technology & Human Resource Development.

The launch of the services will enable consumers in area to watch high quality digital television channels of their choice. It will also have the capacity to deliver many more channels to the consumers than analogue cable.

Commenting on the launch, K Jayaraman, managing director and CEO of Hathway Cable, said: ''Along with providing bundled broadband with digital cable solutions and services, we also intend to doubl the channel capacity in Delhi. The launch of our services' in GT is in line with our expansion plans.''

Hathway has recently launched High-Definition (HD) services in major metros. It has also launched 'Hathway Music' digital channel.

As one of the largest cable broadband and digital cable service provider in the country, Hathway Cable provides cable TV services across 140 cities in India and the broadband services in 22 cities.

The company is equipped with state-of-art cable compression plant, a very high end data centre and several thousand kilometers of fiber-coaxial network. Hathaway has about 9 million analog cable homes, 2 million digital cable homes and about 1.6 million broadband homes. It has been assigned an A- credit rating by Fitch.
