Discussion Digital Cable TV Vs DTH

Which MSO providing this for Rs 270, and in which region? How much will be initial STB cost?

I would support digital cable instead of DTH.

My cable stb has recording facility.and pause and resume option.
Ts hd stb doesnt have this facility.

what if you shifted to other city ,you cant watch recorded content ,if you don't have same provider at that place.
you need to buy new STB and new installation.
but dth you can work in any small village with same old equipment.

it is very good, if you are getting better picture quality than DTH.that is always great.

drawbacks for digital cable:
1)power distractions depends on cable operator.(if they don't have proper power back up)
2)cable line distractions in rainy seasons.
3)picture clarity & quality.
4) no of channels.
if they overcome these,cable is very good.
because
we can get local channels.
package cost is very very reasonable.
post paid for most of digital cable.

I don't find power distraction in cable now a days since the have installed ups

90% of LCO's doesn't have power backup system bro.

I my locality, people face lots of issues with Digital Cable:

No Signal almost majority times due to some cable cuts that too for 3-4 hours depending on how fast its fixed
Blurry picture quality of channels
No DD Audio
Only 20 HD channels
No new SD/HD channels being added
No EPG
Channels going off air
Not paying Broadcaster fee, so channels being removed
Channels getting disappeared on its own

As if DTH has good PQ & AQ they can't match cable as they are value for money. DTH packs are costly and not much flexible. My Cable Operator comes on one call and is very friendly in nature so voted for CABLE TV. Cable works in rainy days too. Cable like fastway and hathway are far better than DishTV, Vd2h, RDTV, etc in comparison of adding channels. Believe me I think soon Digital Cable standard will increase.

Yes . Digital cable going to be the tough competition to all DTH.

To be frank video and audio quality of digital cable is far better than DTH since dths compress the data to save space.
