HBO On Demand Heads to Tata Sky

MUMBAI: HBO is expanding its offerings on the Tata Sky DTH platform with the launch of HBO On Demand, an SVOD service that will be available to subscribers of the premium channels HBO Hits HD and HBO Defined HD.
HBO Defined delivers Hollywood blockbusters and HBO originals, while HBO HITS features Bollywood blockbusters as well as HBO series.
With HBO On Demand launching this week, subscribers will have access to seasons one to three of Game of Thrones, seasons one and two of Banshee and the recently wrapped True Detective. Additional series and movies will be added monthly.
“HBO and Turner have always been ahead of the curve with innovations on content delivery that are designed to entertain consumers like never before," said Kishan Cheranda, senior director of network and content distribution at Turner International India, which handles the local distribution of HBO Hits and HBO Defined. "We have received a very enthusiastic response from the discerning subscribers of HBO Defined HD and HBO Hits HD and are very happy to now extend their premium advertising-free television viewing experience with the additional feature of HBO On Demand on Tata Sky."
Paolo Agostinelli, chief content and business development Officer at Tata Sky, added, “At Tata Sky, we work towards providing our premium subscriber with world class television experience with best content to offer. Apart from just bringing entertainment to their homes, now our subscribers can enjoy the programs showcased on HBO premium channels at any time that is convenient to them. Moving with times, we are aware of the changing consumption patterns of our viewers, hence we are pleased to launch the first ever HBO On Demand model in India."

Tata Sky to launch HBO On Demand for premium subscribers of HBO

MUMBAI: DTH operator Tata Sky is all set to launch HBO On Demand for its HBO premium channel subscribers at no additional cost. The offer is for subscribers of HBO Hits HD and HBO Defined HD.
The new offering of HBO On Demand will be available on Tata Sky from 21 March.
Based on the model of subscription video on demand (SVOD), HBO On Demand will give HBO premium subscribers access to a wide selection of HBO original content with the convenience to watch what they like and when they like. HBO Hits and HBO Defined are distributed in India by Turner International.
Tata Sky chief content and business development officer Paolo Agostinelli said, “Apart from just bringing entertainment to their homes, now our subscribers can enjoy the programmes showcased on HBO premium channels at any time that is convenient to them. Moving with times, we are aware of the changing consumption patterns of our viewers, hence we are pleased to launch the first ever HBO On Demand model in India.”
During launch, subscribers can view all seasons of popular HBO shows like ‘Game of Thrones’ (Seasons 1–3), ‘True Detective’ (Season 1) and ‘Banshee’ (Seasons 1–2). Thereafter, additional content including HBO Original Series and movies will be added on an ongoing monthly basis, thus allowing subscribers to view them at a time of their choice, completely ad free.

Catering to movie lovers, HBO Defined is a 24-hour ad-free premium programming subscription service and presents latest Hollywood movies and award-winning HBO Originals.
HBO Hits is a 24-hour ad-free premium subscription service that indulges the viewers with genre-driven anchors and iconic HBO Original series and Bollywood blockbusters.
The two channels showcase Hollywood and Bollywood content through HD feeds on Tata Sky’s channel numbers 358 and 360 respectively. Tata Sky subscribers can enjoy the channel in dual language for select movie titles. Subscribers can also enjoy the premieres of latest blockbuster movies at a price of Rs 99 per month.

As far as I know, there's a separate channel named HBO OD, offered on various other DTHs arnd d world. ( for on-demand stuff)

This is a very strategic move to push both HBO premium HD channels, as only those subscribers will get HBO OD service. :)

Yes it is so that they can pull out more money from us by the way I am getting already this kind of content on start sports.com already from over the last 1 year on my unlimited broadband. They have mastered this trick to increase revenue per head and also now HBO on demand on its way so that more and more people do take HBO combo...hats off to you tatasky:c

Don't expect anything free from tatasky even if you paying rs 100 already for hbo channels. money grabbing $@%@ they are

Hello u are getting star sports premium free for today most importantly Ind vs pak match. Also these new HBO service will be free for HBO premium channels subscribers. If u want more there is freedish
