I'm currently receiving Insat4B and Nss6 in single lnb with about 64% signal quality on elliptical Dish tv dish.

I purchased a second Lnbf and a 4x1 diseqc switch and want to receive ST2 signal for National geographic channel.

I connected them and when i switched on stb the signal quality of Insat 4b and Nss6 went to 42%, intensity is 11% and channels are pixelated and not getting good signal:(. I didn't still tune the Lnbf to ST2, first i want to resolve the issue with the signal loss.

I used the same diseqc switch as shown in the image below

If i sacrifice Nss6, with dish only aimed at Insat 4b then i can get. But i want Nss6 also.

Please suggest some solution, so that DiSEqC don't attenuate the signal much.

I figured out a solution to this,

If we make the signal gain very high even before it enters the diseqc switch, after it leaves the diseqc then the attenuated signal is tolerable, so we should find different ways to do this, the following options got in my mind, if you know any post here.

1. Using a larger dish(dish tv dish is small, use 90cm or more if you want to aim in between Insat4b and Nss6 and also want to use a diseqc switch, otherwise no need.)

2. Use a satellite line amplifier between Lnbf and diseqc switch.

3. Use a cable without joints and try to reduce the cable length as much as possible. (I have total 2 joints and cable length is about 50 ft)

I think amplifier is better option instead of buying a dish which is costly and space occupying.

Is it good to use a amplifier? Or it produces to much gain for my setup(I mean unwanted gain)?
If anyone used an amplifier, then tell your experience with it and your thoughts.
