They are also not happy with NTO 2. Their bouquets are highly discounted and that's the reason their bouquets are subscribed by many. Their a la carte channel prices are still high. They are afraid that they might have to either reduce a la carte price or increase bouquet price. Both will impact them negatively.

I think Broadcasters like Times Group, Discovery won't b much impacted even after adopting NTO 2.0 be it increasing bouquet price or reducing standalone channel price..... In both cases people will b happy to opt for bouquet and get few more channels rather than save few rupees by choosing standalone chs

Problem is for big broadcasters like zee, sony, star, Viacom18..... They r likely to b impacted both ways.... If they decide to reduce standalone price and keep bouquet price same then lot many users might opt for few chs and saving decent amount while if they decide to increase bouquet price and keep standalone price same then even more will ditch bouquet and just take very few important channels.... 2nd case is more risky and ofcourse keeping channels out of bouquet and just available on standalone basis would mean channel would not remain viable to sustain

Yes you are right, DPO Pack can include Broadcaster packs

Clause 4(4) provides, inter alia, the following additional restrictions:

(a) No DPO bouquet can contain the pay channel whose MRP is more than Rs.12/-(just as for broadcasters, this was reduced from Rs.19/-by the 2020 Tariff Order Amendment).

(b) The DRP of DPO bouquet cannot be less than 85% of the sum of all its components viz. à-la-carte channels or broadcaster bouquets. This is a far more stringent requirement than 33.33% in the case of broadcasters.

This means that there is 15% cap on discount, which DPO can offer. Thus, 15% cap comes into play only after the direct “trickle down” effect of the twin condition has done it job

I knew it bro this 15% discount cap for operators would b applicable on standalone chs price included in bouquet and this will b in addition to 33% offered by broadcasters on bouquet

“We will take the opinion of Solicitor General (Tushar Mehta) on the next course of action that the regulator should follow as far as NTO 2.0 is concerned,” a senior TRAI official said on condition of anonymity. “If the SG tells us that we should write to the broadcasters and ask them to comply with NTO 2.0, then we will write letters to the broadcasters.”

In all likelihood, this won't happen. Even if it does, broadcasters will try to postpone until next hearing.

I agree bro. But the problem is everyone will not choose bouquets as discounts on bouquets are not going to be so attractive in NTO 2. Some might still choose a la carte channels. Which wasn't the state before. That will become a threat to small broadcasters. In fact, this might affect small broadcasters more as they operate on discounted revenue model unlike big broadcasters who doesn't care about customer response to thier pricing.
