Today there is India tour of New Zealand which will be only televised on DD Sports 1.0 because of Sports Act on DD FreeDish. The act that is supposed to benefit viewers by giving access to sports to everyone is available on a single platform. There is no FTA platform but DD's FreeDish. At times when there is some OTT exclusive platform which lacks popular Free To Air channels because of carriage fees. Why should we If Sports Act is supposed to make sports available to everyone. Why are we required to pay for it on private platform where we even have to pay GST of 18%?

This is slowly killing sports / cricket fans in our country.
Pvt. broadcasters not interested to spend millions and give it free to DDFD
compare to 2000s , now pvt. broadcaster not going for more cricket rights like NZ, WI, Ban, ZIM etc. where cricket is less popularity than now in 2000s, we got all over the matches in pvt. channel without any worry.

take DD Sports 2.0 off of satellite and cable TV platforms and only broadcast on DD-free dish ever. there is no use of dd sports on private dth platforms

This act is slightly unfair to private tv channels and ott platforms which have to share rights with DD but for viewers it's fair as they can watch it for free.A large section of population can't afford paid dth services and ott subscriptions,so this act enables them to watch it for free atleast on tv.If anyone wants to watch sports free then they can also install ddfd to enjoy lifetime free Ind cricket matches. It's a good deal !

Ask pvt. broadcasters to launch a FTA channel (make it available in DDFD) and show all india matches in that channel . In that, pvt broadcasters won't loose any money spent on rights and the matches will be available for all the fans irrespective of DDFD viewers and pvt . DTH viewers

Then who will buy PVT DTHs ?

I didn't understand ur question.
All i said is, as per sports act , the sports has to reach each people in the country, it is no need of DD sports has to do, even pvt, broadcaster can launch own channel and make it available in DDFD.

If you think, people all DDFD and no one will buy pvt. dth, same will happen now also , as DD sports showing all the india matches rite.
I just want pvt. broadcaster to give little freedom to buy the rights as nowadays pvt broadcasters not showing interest in buying cricket rights.

This act is wrong you cant give DD sports the right to transmit it for free. For all those who say for poor people, then for them give free broadcast on radio if you want to see anything on TV then there is rights and money involved so you have to pay for the same.

Ironically poor people watches matches on phones via paid platform.
