What an explanation you get when you call up Tatasky office regarding discontinuing of Malayalam Channels. Your channels have been dropped due to dropping viewership and new channels have been added - the best part is that the new channels are other regional language channels and not malayalam.

If that's the case, can they confirm and say that all the channels in their list right now have high viewership.

After all this is a regional channel and will have limited viewers but that does not mean that you take off your list.

This is sheer injustice and it is very frustrating to know that other service providers are offerring malayam channels to the tune of 12 and more....

This is all happening cos we mallus do not react and we are ok with anything served to us. It's time we stand up for our rights as well and at the least call the Tata Sky customer care and bombard them with the queries regarding Malayalam Channels.....

I am happy that there are good number of channels for other regions but I am absolutely sad and angry that my region is being ignored.

Y this discrimination??? We don't need to be treated like this !:wall

THERE IS NO RACISM . EACH DTH COMPANY TARGETS CUSTOMERS THIS WAY

primary market-where maximum no. of people take their dth connection
secondary market-where connections taken are average
low market-where negligible people take their dth connection

each dth company aims that never to loose stronghold on primary markets and increase subscriber base in secondary and lower market. so in all if in kerala since many years their cust base is not growing, its absolutely fine for them to focus on giving missing channels of primary and sec market and keep their streonghold maintained
as tata sky are in severe space crunch so they were left with few options, either to continue with same channels which neither fullfilled demands of all or to let go off channels of lower market and fullfill demands of primary market and i think that was the right option. it will be only after their space issue is resolved that they will think to grow their cust base in lower markets

Thank you dino29 for the feedback.

I do agree it's all about business, but they should think about the exisiting customer base before trying to grow. Kerala viewers may be lesser in number of TS but I am unsure about the the reason why the other DTH providers are able to provide around 12 channels, if business from Kerala was not looking lucrative enough. I am sure there are a lot of people from Kerala who will be already thinking of that option. I guess TS will only know the affect when all the Mallus avoid taking TataSky connections, maybe then they would realize business is business no matter what the magnitude is.

Changing the dth connection is now the best solution.
