im feeling jiostar in future may stop all SD variants for channels which have HD . and may downscale them for those without HD.
Reason : HD channels ask more ad revenue rates compared to SD.

75% homes have HD TVs & HD STBs, so they will lost PQ now.
The viewership of SD channels is still much higher than HD channels. See BARC TRP rating chart, you will get only 1 HD channel (Sun TV HD) and that too keeps going in and out.

We think that most of the users watch HD channels, but the situation is different at the ground level.

Sun tv HD came to top 5 because of star channels went off in cable in tamil nadu usually star vijay super only came at 5th spot due to cable issue sun tv hd has came after 2 months last week only Vijay super has came to 5th spot

Mostly maximum people prefers Sd only

All DPOs should join hands and remove these ₹ 29 channels from their platforms from 1st February.

Channels can get viewers from OTT. But the ultimate impact will be on DTH and cable operators.
At least They shouldn't include in their bouquets and plans.

If they maintain SD & HD, they they have more ad slots and gain ad revenue like mobile and connected tv versions, so they never stops SD like 2G :D

Reliance hold 70% cable tv distribution market, doesn't matter who remove and who add. even these ₹ 29 channels price increase to ₹ 50 still viewers will watching, because everything is planned and everything under Reliance control, So Reliance will promote their own cable tv platforms everywhere and jioTv already leading player in internet Tv division.
