OFF-TOPIC: I don't know why Kalaignar has channels in every genre to compete with Sun (not Jaya, not Captain, nor any other party mouthpiece network), yet doesn't have a movie channel!

Some time back there was a tiff between Stalin and Azhagiri. Sun TVs paper media published that Stalin will be the next cm after Kalaignar. This irked the Azhagiri supporters. They burnt down the Madurai Dinakaran office. Few employees died too.

Post this the tiff between Sun tv and Kalaignar family increased. So Sun tv went neutral. Dmk needed a party channel. So they started channels competing Sun in all genres.

But everything that happened was big drama. They just needed a party channel as Sun tv was not under Party and they started losing ad revenue as they were supporting Dmk abruptly. If they stay neutral or act neutral, they will earn more.

So they did a big drama and succeeded. Now this one family has multiple channels, print media and other cable msos. They get revenue from FTA and also pay channels. So no other group could succeed easily.

They own mso so that they can suppress channels who show their scams. Polimer network is not yet added in Sun direct. Puthiyathalaimurai is on it but you have to call cc to subscribe.
