‘Bajirao Mastani’ nets Rs 150 cr by 3rd weekend, ‘Dilwale’ reaches Rs 138 cr
Both ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Dilwale’ were released on 18 December last year, and initially the latter had crossed the Rs 100 crore (Rs 1 billion) mark much faster. However, positive word of mouth helped the Sanjay Leela Bhansali- directed magnum opus to rake in good numbers.
Both the films had collected Rs 131 crore (Rs 1.31 billion) by the end of the second week.
However, the third week made the difference with ‘Bajirao Mastani’ collecting Rs 18.63 crore (Rs 186.3 million), compared to Rs 7.30 crore (Rs 73 million) by ‘Dilwale’.
‘Bajirao Mastani’ took its net box-office revenue to Rs 149.63 crore (Rs 1.5 billion) while ‘Dilwale’ collected Rs 138.3 crore (Rs 1.38 billion).
