Bharatbala's much awaited Dhanush starrer 'Maryan' has been finally censored and has has been certified with a UA certificate for its theme and some violence in the climax. Produced Ascar Ravichandran is all set to kick start promotions and the film is set to hit the screens of June 27th.

' Maryan' helmed by popular ad filmmaker Bharat Bala will see Dhanush playing the role of a construction fisherman and Parvathi Menon of 'Poo' fame is playing his love interest in the role of Panimalar. The story happens in Sudan in a very rough terrain. While the first half of the film is set there, the next half is set in Kanyakumari.

The film has music and background score composed by A R Rahman and cinematography by Marc Koninckx. The film revolves around a story of human survival adapted from a newspaper article of a real-life crisis event, when three oil workers from India were kidnapped and taken hostage in Sudan by mercenaries.
