NEW DELHI: The Information & Broadcasting Ministry (MIB) has convened review meetings with all the 65 permitted teleport operators, wherein the operators are required to furnish their details to establish continued eligibility criteria. Apart from the list of TV channels being uplinked from their teleport, the operators are also asked to furnish details relating to their balance sheet for the year 2012–13, net worth, shareholding pattern and foreign holding in the company. The MIB has also asked for recent pictures of their facility or teleport as well as photographs of present directors of the board and key executives in a prescribed format. It has also enquired about the operational status of the teleport—WPC validity and NOCC certificate. In the latest report on teleport sought by the ministry, an operator has to submit details of its teleport (STV licence no. and satellite) as well as of the TV channels being uplinked. The ministry has called meetings in three different batches of different teleport operators to get their status. Mentioning the names of 65 operators, it has stated that if details are not provided in the proforma drawn up by the ministry, appropriate ex parte action will be taken in accordance with extant guidelines. Earlier, the MIB had asked broadcasters and teleport operators to furnish company info by 31 March, and extended the deadline for submission of responses to 15 April.
