MSM-Discovery has issued a notice to Hathway Cable & Datacom threatening to disconnect the signals of its bouquet of channels if the MSO fails to renew the contract by 12 May.

The distribution JV company, which distributes the channels under the brand name TheOneAlliance, has said that Hathway has not renewed the agreement for carrying its channels.

The old contract got over on 31 March. "We have isued a public notice today. Hathway has not renewed the contract. We are asking for a reasonable increase, which all other MSOs like IndusInd Media & Communications, Den and Digicable have ageed to. We have already signed fresh contracts with the other MSOs," MSM-Discovery president Rajesh Kaul told indiantelevision.com.

Meanwhile, Hathway sources confirmed receiving the notice but said that there are commercial disagreements due to which the contract has not been renewed.

MSM-Discovery sources, however, said Hathway is asking for too much carriage fee. Kaul did not want to comment on the carriage fee issue.

TheOneAlliance distributes 18 channels including Sony Entertainment Television, Max, AXN, Animax, Pix, Sab, Aath, Discovery, Animal Planet, TLC, Discovery Science, Discovery Turbo and Discovery HD World, Headlines Today, Aaj Tak and Tez and Neo Sports and Neo Cricket.
