Want to go for a new HD connection from August. Most of the time, my folks will be watching SD channels. I may watch HD channels on weekends or briefly at night.

So, primary requirement is SD clarity. Want HD for my viewing (secondary). Want to take advantage of the south pack life time free offers as well.

So, which HD STB shd we chose for above requirements (majorly SD watching) - Hero or the new HEVC box?

Also how to explicitly opt for HEVC box when buying?

Hevc stb sd channels picture quality is not gud as in sdbox. But sound quality same. Hd channels quality also gud. But still don.t know why sd channels pic quality bit poor in hevc stb. Is this a trick used by airtel for customers to choose hd channels for gud quality. Or the stb provides better quality in hevc format channels. Only

I trhink u have made your mind for HEVC box.
Hehe. Not really. I want a STB which is fast/responsive and produces good SD picture quality. if the old box is better than new, I am fine with it. Have seen a post where there is a mention of SD quality not good after upgrading to HEVC box(compared to their old SD box) here & hence this query.

Generally, newer HW is faster (and is newer too :P) & hence the love towards HEVC box.

You are comparing SD STB and a HD STB.

Any feedback on the SD channel quality between the old HD STB n new HD STB?
