ETV News Network, which manages TV18’s regional news business, is launching three news channels today- News18 Tamil Nadu, News18 Kerala and News18 Assam/North East.

Speaking to exchange4media about the launch of the new channels, Jagdish Chandra, Head ETV News Network, said, “Yes ETV is launching three news channels today in the name of news18.It is a soft launch and transmission of all the three channels will be from Hyderabad studios till elections are over in these states. By that time our new bureau offices and other infrastructure will also get ready. ETV Is known as voice of the people in all the states where we operate our channels. Now we are expanding our base to deep South and North East also and hope that we would emerge as the most credible player in these regions also and will become voice of the people in these regions also.”

Currently ETV News Network runs 10 regional-language channels, namely ETV Uttar Pradesh/Uttarakhand, ETV Madhya Pradesh/Chhattisgarh, ETV Bihar/Jharkhand, ETV Rajasthan, ETV News Bangla, ETV News Kannada, ETV News Gujarati, ETV News Odia, ETV News Haryana/Himachal and ETV News Urdu. This will increase to 13 with the launch of three new channels.
