Something large for sure is happening at Arasu, otherwise they wont be issuing notices to almost all top channels. So definitely some large update may come from Arasu once these notice seasons are over.

I am seeing Discovery HD World in the list.. Arasu is in analog mode right now and they are giving notice to a HD channel :lol

The State-run Cable TV Corporation's move is in line with the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2011, which makes it mandatory for digitisation of cable TV services in the four metros — Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai, before June 30.

The Corporation will soon call for bids to purchase the equipment. It will offer 500 channels with 20 in HD mode.

So HD service is a part of Arasu Cable (though currently not offered due to DAS issues) and they seem to be proceeding on the right direction though at a slower rate of speed than what is expected. But still if they choose to deliver those STB's and offer these HD channels right away and people all get those, who is there to stop?? Rules are for the common man, if he is not benefited then we don't need those rules.

Any how, good luck to Arasu for achieving this deal so they can continue to offer all the channels at affordable rares. :tup :tup

Next would be MSM - Discovery , TEN Sports , IndiaCast.

And mind , SUN Network still in negotiation with Arasu after its 1 year agreement ended last Aug.

If Arasu couldn't able to negotiate and get these channels back it is going to be end of Arasu cable TV or Cable TV era in TN...

Just imagine what you would get in TV , if none of these channel distributing companies do negotiation with Arasu!!!

Don't jump in to conclusion based on you assumptions , Discovery HD is just listed because last time MSM channel Package was sold to Arasu with Discovery HD , that doesn't mean that Arasu is ready for HD channel.

Though that wont happen and mostly they will resolve issues before the deadline as this is a financial related issue. :) :)

But if what you say happens, then it would be too horrible. :skd :skd

I don't know what technology Arasu currently has, but their policy is to give 500 channels with 20 HD Channels. Only time can tell how and when these policies will be achieved.
