The first set of individual ratings data released by BARC for the week ended 29 May has seen no change in the pecking order of Hindi movie channels.
Zee Cinema continued to lead the genre in Week 21, followed closely by Star Gold at No. 2 and Movies OK at the third spot, as per BARC data for the Hindi-speaking market (1L+ C&S). Max, because of the telecast of IPL matches, was placed in the sports genre.
The pecking order for the Hindi movie genre in the trailing week remained the same. But it cannot be strictly compared as BARC had provided household data in Week 20.
Among the top five movies for the week, Star Gold led the chart with the first and second spot dominated by action movies. Akshay Kumar’s ‘Baby’ and Ajay Devgan’s ‘Action Jackson’ were the top rated and second ranked movies respectively. The third and fourth ranked movies were shown by Zee Cinema.
These were not very recent but popular movies. Comedy movie ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ stood at No. 3 while the love-based drama ‘Hum Aapke Hai Kaun’ took the fourth spot. Ajay Devgan’s ‘Singham’, shown on Movies OK, grabbed the fifth position
