this query i put to one cc of tata sky. see the reply what i got:

Dear Sir,

If your Set top box is on only you will get the msg of new channel addition immediately after channel addition otherwise not.

horrible reply. they will never admit that they had delayed in sending msg about channel addition.

but if any due is there daily the will be sending msg to you.:cangry
