Sarkar Bro, its clearly mentioned that Jio has applied for a Pan India MSO license.
Now MSO is the one who provides cable tv/ digital cable tv services. They cannot roll out IPTV which is a different type of service.
Already reliance had introduced IPTV in Mumbai/Delhi in 2010 but it failed as India is not yet ready for 1Gpbs speed of internet. And so in IPTV channels used to get buffered and stuck. Also Airtel IPTV at the same time failed.
Now Reliance Jio that plans to me a MSO is owned by Mukesh Ambani.
And Reliance DTH/IPTV is owned by Anil Ambani.
Hence this is a 100%MSO cable tv service and not IPTV
And yes cable operators/MSO can provide internet via STB. from same cable. Many cable STB have a Ethernet port. In that u can put LAN cable and connect it to ur smart TV and surf internet.
So in India IPTV is a failed idea, and we cannot expect it to work unless the Govt gives permit for broadband speeds above 1gpbs for residential purpose. And triple play as BSNL/MTNL say, we cannot use internet when we use the telephone at same time. So image if ur watching TV via IPTV and u get a call, u pic the phone and ur channels get stuck.
The future of TV in india lies in Digital Cable, DTH, and if possible some new technology may be invented and introduced
