Asianet News and Republic TV are owned by same person - Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
So no more Malayalam channel expected from Republic.
Asianet news is already having digital presence in Tamil so it will be expanded into a full fledged satellite news channel

Asianet News was a major stake holder in Republic TV during launch. Later Arnab bought back majority shares.

I think they will rebrand Janam TV to Republic Malayalam because of their same ideology. Only guess.
