Republic TV is set to launch a virtual reality driven digital platform called Republic World, in a fortnight. The platform would be the first of its kind in India in news segment.
“The new technology will enable viewers to experience the on-ground situation as our reporters bring stories to them,” said Arnab Goswami, Editor, Republic TV.
The digital platform would be free to consume and would be part of the Republic TV website. The content played here would be original and not a repetition of what is shown on the channel.
The channel is not yet willing to divulge budget details. “The website is expected to go live by next week. The new platform is on a test run right now and would be launched soon,” said a senior business person from Republic TV.
