Chennai Corporation has already started operations to shutdown many operators and MSOs by cutting out their cables
--

Days after the cancellation of licence to Sumangali Cable Vision (SCV), a Multi System Operator run by the Maran family-owned Sun Group, nearly 25 cable operators linked to the MSO have moved to a rival company.

According to The Times of India (dated 31 August, 2014), Tamizhaga Cable Communication Limited (TCCL) have started procuring 2 lakh set-top boxes to aid cable operators shifting from SCV to TCCL.

Despite the cancellation of licence to SCV after the Home Ministry denied it security clearance, a few cable operators have opted to wait until a decision is reached in the Madras High Court, said TOI. Chennai Corporation has already started operations to shut down many operators and MSOs for non-payment of rent to the local body for using roads to lay cables.
