SIIMA awards 2016 that is being held at Singapore this year celebrates the best of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam cinema.
The award ceremony that is being held across two days, with day one that is today, honoring the best of Telugu and Kannada films of last year. Mahesh babu won the Best Actor award for Srimanthudu in Telugu, while Puneeth Rajkumar got the same for his performance in Ranavikrama in Kannada. Shruti Haasan got the Best Actress award in Telugu for Srimanthudu, while Rachita Ram got it for Kannada for Ranna. Allu Arjun got the Best Actor Critics award for his performance in Rudhramadevi, while Anushka Shetty got the Best Actress Critics for the same film.
The Best film (Telugu) went, unsurprisingly to Baahubali which also bagged the Best Director’s award for SS Rajamouli. The Best Film (Kannada) went to Mythri, while actor Upendra got the Best Director’s award for Uppi 2.
Megastar Chiranjeevi was felicitated for his upcoming 150th cinema in a grand style.

Best Actor in Negative Role – Rana Daggubati for “Baahubali” (Telugu) and Saikumar for “RangiTaranga” (Kannada).
Best Comedian Award – Vennela Kishore for “Bhale Bhale Magadivoy” (Telugu) and Chikanna for “Masterpiece” (Kannada).
The Lifetime Achievement Award: S Janaki.
The South Sensation of the Year: Sudheer Babu.
Best Debutant Male: Akhil Akkineni for “Akhil” (Telugu) and Vinay Rajkumar for “Siddhartha.”
