Deserving is a different thing, but they should also think about the users. Users are already paying high NCF + now they are increasing pack and channel prices. After all come on media and say “Pay TV is dying”, they are the only reason behind it.
I know you are saying Sony Sab SD to be justified for ₹25 because of TMKOC but all the episodes airing on Daytime of TMKOC are already available on YouTube but still considering we don't love watching on YT then also ₹19 is justified for SD.

No one buys individual channels, Most of people look for Bouquets so it won't be major issues plus Tata Play after 45 days keeps on giving Hindi TV shows SD & HD pack @1rs for 30 days so Doesnt matter much
That doesn't justify the mammoth price hike by broadcasters on a la carte
There are many people who takes Ala carte because they don't watch every channel we purchased Tata sky in 2021 In that we took channels in Ala carte and it was quite reasonable then In last October we switched to airtel dth in that there was no option of Ala carte you have to purchase there minimum 350 pack then after that you can choose the channels you have to watch so it became costlier than Tata play
